South West Hampshire Beekeepers (SWHBK) held its third honey show at Brockenhurst Village Hall (BVH) on Sunday 15 October.

The event was well attended and we had interest from visitors who were attending the BVH open day event. We sold quite a few jars of honey from the club’s apiary as well.

National Honey show judge Mike Duffin, kindly judged the show for us. He gave the members assisting him lots of useful tips and feedback. 

There were a good number of entries ranging from honey, beeswax products through to honey cakes and biscuits. Members Xavier, John and Andrew all had a good try to win the most points prize but Philip Latham pipped them to the post. Well done Philip. Also, many congratulations to Gill Ronan whose honey was voted this year’s favourite at the show.
