Membership Types

The South West Hampshire Beekeepers (SWHBK) Membership year runs from 1st January to 31st December each year. For full members, it is especially important to keep your membership active in order to ensure continuity of the benefits the British Bee Keepers Association (BBKA), Hampshire Beekeepers Association (HBA) and Bee Diseases Insurance Ltd (BDI).

Which Membership is right for me?

Full member – for an adult keeping bees at any time during the membership year. 

Associate – for an adult who will not be keeping bees at any point during the membership year, or a beekeeper who, through full membership of another beekeeping organisation affiliated to BBKA, is covered for BDI.

Family – for an adult non-beekeeper living at the same address as a registered member

Junior – for a young person under 18 years old on 1st December who is a child or grandchild of a registered member

All Full Members of SWHBK are automatically members of BBKA (British Beekeepers Association) and Hampshire Beekeepers Association (HBA), also allowing attendance of their events.  Junior members who wish to keep bees can join BBKA to receive the member benefits.  For further details please contact membership.swhbk@gmail.com

Prices for 2024

Full member *£40.00* includes BDI cover for up to 3 colonies.
4 or 5 colonies, add £1.20
6 to 10 colonies, add £4.70
11 to 15 colonies, add £7.75
16 to 20 colonies, add £9.50
Please ask for larger number of colonies.
Associate£12.00
Family£5.00
