Beginners Beekeeping Course – week 1
March 11 @ 7:30 pm - 9:30 pm
Beekeeping Beginners Course 2020
Our Beginners Course is perfect for both non-beekeepers who are looking to become beekeepers and those who started with their first colony during the last twelve months without having completed a course. It runs for seven weeks from Wednesday11th March to Wednesday 29th April 2020, starting at 7:30pm. This would then be followed by 4 visits to the apiary to put your new found skills to work.
Each evening class will cover a different aspect of beekeeping from bee biology, pests and diseases, through to making frames, choosing the right hive and the best spot for your own apiary.
Practical apiary training will be at our local apiary, and each new beekeeper will be offered a bee buddy or mentor.
We recommend beginner beekeepers buy a copy of the Haynes Bee Manual.
